Penn State players help assistant propose to girlfriend after Rutgers win (Video)
It didn’t take long for Penn State to pull off its second victory of the day after knocking off Rutgers, 35-6 in State College.
Immediately following the final whistle, the Nittany Lions players and coaches ran over to the end zone and circled up to watch as one of their strength and conditioning coaches, Chance Sorrell, got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend.

There’s the whole cliche about “football is family” but it’s hard not to buy in to that adage when you see the a team get excited for one of their own like this.

In case it wasn’t clear from the video, Penn State tweeted out that Sorrell’s girlfriend did, indeed, say yes.
BTW, She said YES!

Sorrell, himself a former PSU offensive lineman, is an easy guy to rally around. As a redshirt sophomore with the Nittany Lions in 2016, Sorrell retired from the game after repeated injuries. His heartfelt goodbye letter to the team is pinned to his Twitter page and it’s worth a read.
Thanks for everything Nittany Nation. I'll miss playing for you guys! Please Read Below #WeAre #PSU pic.twitter.com/XcoCe9f6dw

As cool as the moment was, we’d be remiss if we didn’t give a nod to Trent Headley at Colorado as well. The linebacker came out for his Senior Day ceremony in Boulder and promptly proposed to his girlfriend, one of the CU cheerleaders.

Congratulations to both Headley and Sorrell.
