Patrick McCaw diagnosed with lumbosacral bone bruise, out for at least 4 weeks
Patrick McCaw went down hard on Saturday at the Golden 1 Center after being hit by Vince Carter in the air, landing hard on his back. McCaw had to be taken out on a stretcher in a brace, and transported to a hospital.
Now, five days later, the Warriors have an insight as to how long they’ll be without their second-year guard.
McCaw will be out for at least four weeks with a lumbosacral bone bruise.
“The [orthopedic] evaluation confirmed that McCaw did not suffer any neurological damage after falling to the floor and the injury has been diagnosed as a lumbosacral bone bruise, secondary to the impact of the fall,” the Warriors said in a statement.
“He will be re-evaluated in four weeks and, at this point, his playing status for the remainder of this season/playoffs has not been determined.”

If all goes well, McCaw could be back in time for the second round of the playoffs.
