Patrick Mahomes tells Pat McAfee how Chiefs almost retaliated vs. Ravens K Justin Tucker

The AFC championship pregame feud between Kansas City's Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes and Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker is getting more and more interesting.

Video surfaced before Sunday's game of Tucker warming up in the same vicinity as Mahomes, causing consternation between the Big 12 alums (Mahomes starred at Texas Tech, Tucker at Texas). Kelce finally stepped in and removed Tucker's equipment and, while it didn't escalate from there, the Chiefs duo both admitted on Wednesday they absolutely were willing to take it there during the game.

Mahomes made a surprise appearance during Kelce's Wednesday appearance on ESPN's "The Pat McAfee Show," prompting McAfee to joke about the incident:

"(Baltimore Ravens kicker) Justin Tucker was going to beat your a-- dude," McAfee said. "He's going to beat your a--."

The star quarterback-tight end duo responded to McAfee they had revenge on their minds late in the fourth quarter when Tucker trotted out for a field goal attempt.

"If he would have missed that field goal, we 100% were going to get a 15-yard (unsportsmanlike) flag," Kelce said. (Ultimately, that plan didn't pan out: Tucker hit the 43-yard field goal to bring the Ravens within one score, 17-10).

Added Mahomes: "Of course he made it, of course. He won't let us have any fun."

This is not the first time that Mahomes has referenced or talked about the pregame incident since the game.

"(It's been made) a bigger deal than it actually was," Mahomes said Tuesday during an appearance on 610 Sports Radio in Kansas City. "I've had seven years of doing that same warmup routine and there's only been like three occasions where there's been a kicker that wasn't ... it was in Baltimore all three times."

What happened before the AFC championship game?

The exact details and story of the incident aren't clear as Kelce, Tucker and Mahomes have each shared their own stories.

As has been shown on video, Tucker warmed up on the Chiefs' side of the field, causing Kelce to kicking Tuckers' ball and remove his helmet to the side as Mahomes continued warming up.

At the end of the day, the Mahomes, Kelce and the Chiefs won the game 17-10 to advance to their fourth Super Bowl appearance in the last five seasons.
