OU women's basketball: Sahara Williams' strong finish lifts Sooners to 3-0 Big 12 start
NORMAN — OU freshman forward Sahara Williams scored 12 of her career-high 18 points in the fourth quarter Saturday to put away Cincinnati for a 77-64 victory at Lloyd Noble Center.
The Sooners (9-5) moved to 3-0 to open Big 12 play, a first since the 2016-17 season. That year, OU was 13-5 in conference play and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
During the current streak, OU has held its three Big 12 opponents to less than 65 points, a first in any three-game stretch under coach Jennie Baranczyk.
Williams led all scorers with her 18 points. She did that in just 16:30. Skylar Vann and Aubrey Joens added 10 points apiece.
Clarissa Craig scored 13 points off the bench for the Bearcats (8-6, 0-3).
