OU softball still No. 1 in coaches poll, but Texas takes the lead in D1Softball poll
OU is still on top, but Texas is close behind.
OU softball remained No. 1 in Tuesday's USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll despite snapping its NCAA-record winning streak of 71 games with a 7-5 home loss to Louisiana on Sunday.
But in Monday’s D1Softball poll, Texas ended OU's long reign atop the national poll by moving to No. 1 following a 5-0 showing this past week. The Longhorns (17-1) had been ranked No. 2 behind the Sooners (18-1), who have won the past three national titles.
