New Orleans Saints draft picks 2023: Round-by-round selections

Here is a 2023 NFL draft pick-by-pick breakdown for the New Orleans Saints:

Round 1 (No. 29 overall, from 49ers through Dolphins) — Bryan Bresee, DT, Clemson: New Orleans picked up this peripatetic pick by letting former HC Sean Payton go to Denver, which momentarily had it after trading OLB Bradley Chubb to Miami. A guy who can play up and down the line, Bresee (6-6, 298) is too good to pass up for a team that needed to replenish its defensive front. And after the health issues (ACL tear, kidney infection) and personal adversity, including the loss of his sister to cancer last year, Bresee faced with the Tigers, he seems primed to unleash his talent with a fresh start. Round 2 (40) — Isaiah Foskey, DE, Notre Dame: They continue to replenish their D-line – DT Bryan Bresee was the pick in Round 1 – the 6-5, 264-pound Irish star will bolster the edge following the loss of Marcus Davenport in free agency. Foskey posted 20½ sacks and 23 TFLs over the past two seasons and is a physical marvel, posting a 4.58 40 time at the combine. Draft tracker

Round 3 (71) — Kendre Miller, RB, TCU: A big back (5-11, 215) and workhorse for the Horned Frogs in 2022 (224 carries for 1,399 yards and 17 TDs). He's not going to catch the ball like Alvin Kamara, but Miller provides depth at a time when Kamara could be facing a suspension for off-field issues. Draft tracker
