The New Orleans Saints may have moved training camp from Metairie, Louisiana to Irvine, Calif., but that didn't stop New Orleans native Avery Johnson from making an appearance on Wednesday morning.

It isn't uncommon for the Saints to have guests on the sideline during training camp. The St. Augustine graduate was just the first to make an appearance this year. It's not his first appearance.

The relationship between Johnson and the Saints trace far back. Johnson earned a ring with the San Antonio Spurs in 1999, and he received a Super Bowl ring with the New Orleans Saints a decade later. Obviously, Johnson never suited up, but he was a motivational speaker for the team in their Super Bowl season.

Johnson went on to foster personal relationships within the organization. Fast forward another decade and Johnson is officiating Sean Payton's wedding. New Orleans runs through Johnson's bloodstream and his ties to the team have been present for 15 years.

Johnson has now transitioned from the court to the cameras. After a long career playing and coaching basketball, he is now an analyst with CBS Sports.
