'One Shining Moment' caps off 2023 men's NCAA Tournament following Connecticut's win
No. 4 Connecticut rolled to its fifth men's basketball national championship, defeating No. 5 San Diego State, 76-59, in the NCAA Tournament championship game in Houston on Monday night.
For UConn, this is the program's fifth national championship (1999, 2004, 2011 and 2014 were the others). In addition, the Huskies are 5-0 in championship games. The championship also moves UConn past Kansas and into a tie with Duke and Indiana for the fourth-most rings in Division I men's basketball. UCLA leads with 11, followed by Kentucky with eight and North Carolina with six.
Of course, the men's NCAA Tournament is not complete until the airing of the traditional "One Shining Moment" montage.
