Olympic golf leaderboard: Results from Round 2 at Le Golf National in Paris

It's onto the weekend at Le Golf National and the 2024 Paris Olympics.

And the chase for the gold, silver and bronze remains quite congested after Friday's second round action.

In part due to the difficulty of Hole 18 at Le Golf National — a Par 4 that plays along a body of water and its green speeds up near the hole — there is a three-way tie for first between Japan's Hideki Matsuyama, United States' Xander Schauffele and Great Britain's Tommy Fleetwood.

Both Schauffele and Fleetwood found a considerable amount of success with their putt game on Friday as the two combined for 13 birdies on the day. Schauffele shot 5-under on the day while Fleetwood shot 7-under, which included recording an eagle on the Par 5 Hole 3.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler remains in contention for a medal in his Olympic Games debut after bouncing back from a double-bogey on Hole 7 with a 4-under par — and four birdies — on the Back 9. Scheffler is tied for 10th after 36 holes in France. Rory McIlroy also shot well on the day, as he moved up nine spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 13 after Friday.

Here's what to know from Friday's second round of men's golf at the 2024 Paris Olympics, who is where in the leaderboard after 36 holes of golf:
