Ole Miss baseball lands Duke third baseman Andrew Fischer from transfer portal
OXFORD — Ole Miss baseball's offseason transfer portal rebuild continued on Wednesday with the addition of Duke third baseman Andrew Fischer.
Fischer, a lefthanded bat, hit .289 for the Blue Devils as a freshman this season, with 11 home runs and a .999 OPS. Twenty-seven of his 50 hits on the season went for extra bases.
"First and foremost I want to thank my family and friends for guiding me throughout this process," Fischer wrote on Twitter. "I could not have asked for a better support system. With that said, I am proud to announce my commitment to Ole Miss to continue my academic and athletic career."

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of New Jersey made only one error all season and helped Duke win the Conway Regional.
His addition gives the Rebels a big boost at a premium offensive position, where they did not get significant production. He'll have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Fischer is the fourth incoming transfer for Ole Miss and the third addition to the Rebels' lineup. He joins Tampa shortstop JD Urso, Mercer outfielder Treyson Hughes and Arkansas State pitcher Kyler Carmack.
