Oklahoma State football adds tight end Tyler Foster from Ohio in transfer portal
STILLWATER — With very few starting jobs to fill for next season, Oklahoma State has gone to the transfer portal for a potential replacement at tight end.
Tyler Foster, who spent the last five seasons at Ohio, announced his commitment to the Cowboys late Thursday night.
The 6-foot-5, 247-pound Foster had 396 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 33 catches over the past two seasons and is expected to enroll for the spring semester to start his super-senior year.
That will give him the immediate opportunity to compete for the starting job vacated by Josiah Johnson, who had 22 catches for 166 yards and a touchdown in his lone season as a Cowboy.

Johnson, who began his college career as a quarterback before shifting to tight end at UMass, became a valuable addition with the Cowboys’ move back toward more traditional tight end usage.
The tight end/fullback group was hit hard by graduation, with the departure of Johnson and backup blocking specialist Ian Edenfield, plus starting fullback Braden Cassity.
But Foster brings good size and experience as a tight end to add to the group with Quinton Stewart, Tabry Shettron and incoming freshman Josh Ford from Stillwater.
The fullback group got a boost earlier this week when Jake Schultz announced he would stay to use his super-senior season. He’s joined there by Bryce Drummond and Luke McEndoo.
