Oilers 'Very Happy' With Jeff Skinner
EDMONTON -- Sometimes, a team's new addition is like dumping oil into water.
The oil doesn't mix, then a losing streak sets it on fire. But that hasn't been the case with the Edmonton Oilers and Jeff Skinner.
To recap (for those just joining us now) the Oilers signed Skinner on July 1st. Both parties agreed to a one-year contract worth $3-million.

Five games into the season, and Skinner's deal looks like found house money.
Don't look now, but Skinner is tied with Leon Draisaitl for second on the Oilers in scoring with four points. Unsurprisingly, Connor McDavid is leading the charge with five points.
The major difference between the Oilers superstars and the new kid on the block is ice time. Skinner ranks seventh on the Oilers in average time on ice, skating 14:07 per game.

McDavid leads the way with 22:01 and Draisaitl with 20:59.
Aside from one powerplay point a-piece, the dynamic duo have earned the rest of their points via even strength. Surely, their point totals will skyrocket once they find their grove on the man advantage.

As far as Skinner is concerned, head coach Kris Knoblauch has liked what he's seen.
"I think he's been really good the last three games," the coach stated in last night's post-game scrum. "Not only scoring two keys goals in the last couple games, but also really good on the walls, getting pucks out."
"We're very happy with him."
It's tough not to be happy with a newcomer scoring as much as the big guns.
Oil and water? Hardly. Skinner and his new team are like rum and coke. Refreshing and a match made in hockey heaven.
