Ohio State women's basketball rallies to beat Illinois with Jacy Sheldon pacing Buckeyes

The Ohio State women's basketball team came back from down 33-22 at halftime to beat Illinois Thursday 67-59 in Champaign.

The Buckeyes (16-3, 7-1) scored just 4 points in the second quarter on layups by Jacy Sheldon and Taiyier Parks and gave up 20, forcing OSU to rally against the Fighting Illini (8-10, 2-6) after the break.

Parks accounted for all of Ohio State's scoring off the bench with 4. Sheldon led Ohio State with 25 points on 9-of-19 shooting. She also had a team-leading three steals.

Cotie McMahon followed up her 33-point performance in Sunday's upset of Iowa with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Ohio State's next game is a 2 p.m. tipoff Sunday against Purdue (9-10, 2-6)
