Ohio State earns No. 10 seed in Big Ten Tournament, will face Iowa on Thursday
Ohio State is the No. 10 seed in the Big Ten men's basketball tournament. The Buckeyes, at 9-11 in league play, will face No. 7 seed Iowa at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Minneapolis.
The Hawkeyes won the lone meeting between the teams this season, handing Ohio State a 79-77 loss at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Feb. 2. Iowa closed the regular season by losing at home to Illinois to finish 18-13 overall and 10-10 in the Big Ten
The Buckeyes won 73-51 at Rutgers to close the season 19-12 overall. Ohio State has won five of its six games since coach Chris Holtmann was fired and associate head coach Jake Diebler was promoted to the interim job.
Last season, Ohio State became the first team to play on the opening day of the tournament and advance to the weekend. The Buckeyes were the No. 13 seed but knocked off No. 12 seed Wisconsin, No. 5 seed Iowa and No. 4 seed Michigan State before falling to No. 1 seed and eventual champion Purdue in the semifinals.
