2021 NFL trade deadline tracker: Jets trade TE Dan Brown to Chiefs for OL Laurent Duvernay-Tardif

The NFL trade deadline has passed with a few last-minute deals.

Jets trade for Chiefs' Dr. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif

The New York Jets are adding a little more depth to their offensive line, and the Kansas City Chiefs are getting themselves another tight end. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs are sending Dr. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (the only active NFL player with a medical degree) to the Jets in exchange for tight end Dan Brown.

Duvernay-Tardif, 30, hasn't played since 2019. He opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns and hasn't played in 2021 due to a hand injury he sustained during training camp. The Chiefs activated him on Monday night for the first time since Super Bowl LIV. Brown, 29, is primarily a special teams guy. He played a team-high 335 special-teams snaps in 2020, and took just 28 snaps on offense.

Steelers trade Melvin Ingram to Chiefs

The Pittsburgh Steelers are sending outside linebacker Melvin Ingram to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported. Ingram had already told CBS Sports' Josina Anderson he was being traded to Kansas City.

Ingram, 32, signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Steelers in July and was reportedly unhappy with the lack of playing time he received. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said in his afternoon media availability the signing didn't "work out the way we envisioned, the way he envisioned" and noted the team didn't want "to have hostages" around.

"What the team needs is first and foremost," he said, via Jenna Harner of WPXI Sports. "But from a team perspective, it's better to have volunteers than it is to have hostages."

The three-time Pro Bowler had one sack and 10 tackles with the Steelers in six games played this season. Pittsburgh and Kansas City had reportedly been in talks for a few weeks on the deal.

He spent the first nine seasons of this career with the Chargers organization, earning his three straight Pro Bowl nods from 2017-19.

Broncos deal CB Kary Vincent Jr. to Eagles

The Denver Broncos were reportedly shopping cornerback Kyle Fuller ahead of the deadline. Instead, it's cornerback Kary Vincent Jr. who's on the move. The Philadelphia Eagles announced shortly after Tuesday's deadline that they acquired Vincent in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round pick.

The Broncos selected Vincent in the seventh round of April's NFL draft out of LSU. He has yet to play in an NFL game.
