NFL legend Rob Gronkowski awards Arizona veteran trip to Super Bowl 58
Legendary Arizona Wildcats star and NFL titan Rob Gronkowski has awarded an Arizona military veteran a trip to Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.
"Gronk" is working with USAA, the official NFL Salute to Service partner, and the Wounded Warrior Project to send Graham Dorsey and his wife to the big game. Gronkowski is also going to be meeting the couple at the Super Bowl. USAA is looking to participate in similar efforts with other NFL players as well.
Dorsey was in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2002-06, achieving the rank of lance corporal. While he served, he was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 1-star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Navy Presidential Unit Citation.

Both Dorsey and his wife, Rebecca, are NFL fans. Dorsey is a Philadelphia Eagles fan, who have a chance to play in the Super Bowl after they advanced to the NFL postseason. The Eagles were in the Super Bowl last year in Glendale, where they lost to Kansas City.
During that Super Bowl, Gronkowski attempted a 'Kick of Destiny,' where he attempted a 25-yard field goal in efforts to win everyone who put down a $5 or more bet on last year's Super Bowl a share of $10 million in free bets. He said he wanted to nail the kick "for everybody in America," and now he looks to give back to someone who served for America.
“Football on Sundays would not be possible without heroes like Marine Corps veteran Lance Corporal Graham Dorsey,” Gronkowski said. “In working with USAA and Wounded Warrior Project, I wanted to honor someone from Arizona, where I went to college, and Graham’s service to our country is worth celebrating. I look forward to meeting Graham and his wife Rebecca at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.”
Gronkowski, the legendary Patriots and Buccaneers tight end, played in six Super Bowls himself, and even played in one against Dorsey's Eagles. Gronk did not come out on top during that one, but did win four of the other Super Bowls he played in.
Gronkowski scored 10 touchdowns at Arizona in 2008, which tied for the Pac-12 season lead. He averaged 16 yards per reception in Tucson. After his Wildcats career was over, the Patriots selected him with the 42nd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, and the rest was history.
