NFL playoffs: Bills hold off Dolphins in AFC wild-card thriller
The Buffalo Bills beat the Miami Dolphins 34-31 in a thriller that was a lot closer than many people expected, or it looked like it would be in the first half.
Buffalo jumped out to a 17-0 lead but Miami rallied to tie the game. In the second half, the Bills took a 10-point lead but the Dolphins cut it to 3 and got the ball back with a chance to win the game before some unfortunate play clock management doomed them.
Josh Allen finished 23-of-39 for 352 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions, while Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis combined for 13 catches for 227 yards. The Bills turned the ball over three times.
Miami quarterback Skylar Thompson went 18-of-45 for 220 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, but gave the Dolphins a chance despite them missing Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater.
