Oregon has lost two players to season-ending injury.

After multiple reports emerged Monday, Oregon confirmed that wide receiver Devon Allen and offensive tackle Tyrell Crosby are out for the season.

According to 247Sports and The Oregonian, receiver Devon Allen, who represented the United States in track and field at the Rio Olympics over the summer, injured his ACL during Saturday’s loss at Nebraska. Allen was injured while covering a punt.

Additionally, CSN Northwest is reporting that Crosby will miss the rest of the season because of a foot injury. Crosby missed the Ducks’ season opener against UC Davis, but was able to return against Virginia in Week 2. Like Allen, Crosby was also injured Saturday at Nebraska.

Crosby, a junior, starting 12 games in 2015 and nine games in 2014.

Allen, a redshirt junior, injured his left knee Saturday. He previously suffered a torn ACL in his right knee when returning the opening kickoff of the 2015 Rose Bowl. Before the Rose Bowl, Allen was one of the Ducks’ top receivers with 41 catches for 684 yards and seven scores. He returned in 2015, but saw a dropoff in production with only nine catches for 94 yards.

Through three games this season, Allen had four catches for 141 yards and a long touchdown vs. Virginia.

Allen’s first knee injury caused him to miss the 2015 track and field season for Oregon, but he returned this year and won the U.S. outdoor title in the 110-meter hurdles, punching his ticket to Rio. Allen advanced to the final in the 110m hurdles in Rio, but finished fifth. He returned to the football team only a few weeks after returning from Brazil.

Allen has spoken publicly about exploring the possibility of pursuing a professional career in track (forgoing his senior season in the sport) while continuing to play football for the Ducks.

This latest injury could alter his plans.

And while the news doesn’t look good for Allen and Crosby, things are a bit more promising for star running back Royce Freeman. Freeman left Saturday’s game with a leg injury in the first quarter, but, per The Oregonian, the injury is not believed to be serious.

From The Oregonian:

Though carrying a bit of a limp, Freeman was walking around outside of practice Monday without a brace, and running backs coach Gary Campbell said that his star running back shouldn’t miss a substantial amount of time due to the injury.

“Well, he’s walking,” Oregon running backs coach Gary Campbell said, right as Freeman walked behind him. “I don’t know what his status is right now. It’s a day-to-day thing with him right now. He’ll play this season, no question.”

If Freeman can’t go this weekend against Colorado, the Ducks will rely on Kani Benoit, Tony Brooks-James and Taj Griffin, all of whom had success against the Huskers. Benoit led the way with 100 yards and a touchdown on just six carries while Griffin added 68 yards and a score on eight carries. Brooks-James scored three times in the loss and finished with 37 yards on seven carries.

Before his injury, Freeman had 31 yards on five carries. Freeman had a combined 3,201 yards and 35 touchdowns in 2014 and 2015.
