Lame celebration? No, that was just Joe Flacco doing the Mannequin Challenge

When Joe Flacco does the Mannequin Challenge, you know its death is near.

The internet phenomenon has reached Hillary Clinton (the day before the election), various other celebrities and it has been performed numerous times the past few weeks. And on Thursday night, Flacco officially made it uncool.

The Baltimore Ravens trailed the winless Cleveland Browns, 7-6, at halftime. But the Ravens came out steaming in the second half, and Flacco hit Darren Waller for a touchdown pass on their first possession. After the score, Flacco just stood there, mid-fist pump. It was a “what’s going on?” moment, almost as if he had something more elaborate planned … but forgot.

Nope. It was just #MannquinChallenge. But like your third cousin from Arkansas doing the Ice Bucket Challenge or Chris Berman doing the dab, Flacco busting out a Mannequin means that its head has officially been cut off. Haven’t done it yet yourself? Hurry. Time clearly is running out.

Yes, Joe, a hat tip. It was a mildly funny and unexpected moment from a fairly stoic QB, and in that respect it was fairly fitting. But we can’t see this thing lasting much longer now that we have reached this level.
