Earl Thomas watched last week's Seahawks game incognito at Buffalo Wild Wings
If you were in a Portland-area Buffalo Wild Wings last Sunday afternoon, you probably noticed a man in sunglasses and a hoodie who seemed a little too into the Seattle Seahawks’ loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
It was All-Pro safety Earl Thomas.
Thomas missed the first game of his career last week because of a hamstring injury and didn’t travel with the team. To take his mind off it he went with his family to Portland according to Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune. He took in a couple Trail Blazers games. But of course he was going to watch his teammates play in Tampa Bay.
He said he took in the game at Buffalo Wild Wings with his hoodie up and sunglasses on, trying to not draw any attention. Thomas is one of the most intense players in the NFL, so it’s easy to imagine him blowing his cover as the Seahawks suffered a 14-5 loss.
“I was into it. You can’t be silent. You can’t hide who you are when you are passionate about something like this,” Thomas told Bell. “Luckily, people kind of knew who I was, but they kind of let me be.”
Thomas is expected back in the lineup this week, so don’t go searching for him at your nearest Buffalo Wild Wings on Sunday. Thomas going to watch the Seahawks play and digging into some wings was a one-time deal. And it wasn’t enjoyable.
“It was definitely hard,” Thomas said, according to the News Tribune.
