New Sister Jean bobbleheads are on the way after Ramblers reach Elite Eight
Loyola Chicago has given away bobbleheads of Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, the Ramblers’ 98-year-old team chaplain and NCAA tournament star, twice — once in 2011 and again in 2015.
Now that the Ramblers have reached the Elite Eight and the entire college basketball world has fallen in love with the Ramblers icon, it seems that everyone wants their own legendary Sister Jean bobblehead. Some are even listed on eBay for more than $300 each.
More, thankfully, will be here soon.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, unveiled a new, limited edition bobblehead featuring Sister Jean in her Loyola jacket and scarf on Friday. The bobbleheads, now available for pre-order, cost be just $25 each, and are expected to arrive in June. Part of the proceeds from the bobbleheads will go to the Loyola Athletic Fund and the Sisters Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
“[Sister Jean] is an amazing person and part of the fabric of what makes Loyola such a wonderful place,” said Loyola Chicago athletic director Steve Watson. “Most people never have their own bobblehead, but the fact that Sister Jean is about to get [another one] shows just how special she is.”
Finally, the rest of the world can get their hands on perhaps the best souvenir from the 2018 NCAA tournament — or any tournament in recent memory.
