NBA social media reacts to the Warriors’ losing streak after loss to Mavericks
In their final contest of 2023, the Golden State Warriors had no answer for Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night at Chase Center.
The Mavericks All-Star point guard torched the Warriors for 39 points on 14-of-29 shooting from the field to go along five made 3-pointers, 10 assists and eight rebounds in 38 minutes.
While Doncic nearly posted a triple-double, Golden State’s Splash Brothers were quiet. Curry led the Warriors with 25 points on 9-of-25 shooting from the field. Klay Thompson struggled, scoring three points on 1-of-11 shooting from the floor. Curry and Thompson combined to shoot for 10-of-26 from the field against the Mavericks.
Chris Paul provided a spark for the Warriors, scoring a season-high 24 points with six made 3-pointers. However, it wasn’t enough as the Warriors’ losing streak reached three with a 132-122 loss.
Following Golden State’s loss to Dallas, here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Kerr pressed a lot of the right buttons. The first quarter proved to be their doom

The Warriors start 0-2 on their seven-game home stand, falling to the Mavs 132-122.
They made some pushes w/ good shooting from Curry and Paul, but their defense and inability to shut Dallas off cost them. Luka Doncic finishes with 39 points on 14-of-29 shooting, including 5 3s

That's an 0-2 open to this homestand for the Warriors. Already their 8th home loss after eight all of last season. Drops them to 15-17 entering 2024. Klay Thompson 1/11 FG and watched most of 4Q from bench. Warriors couldn't contain Luka Doncic: 38-10-8. Wobbly times.

Didn't realize this until @itszenakeita put me on game …
Chris Paul came into the game shooting 40.4 percent on catch-and-shoot threes (19-for-47). He's 5 of 8 from 3 tonight and at least four of them were catch-and-shoot

who scares you around him? Not a single player who can get 20 if guarded 1v1. https://t.co/qwhHFnxAOS

Warriors are now 8-17 versus teams .500 or better

Warriors don't have a single consistent player on the roster (outside of Steph). You have no clue who is bringing their A game night in night out lol

Three-game losing streak has washed away the good vibes.
Klay Thompson in his last three games:
8/34 (6/22 from 3). That's 23.5% from the floor and 27.2% from 3.

He had great stretches last season too. Also had a lot of terrible stretches. Like the postseason when Steph was left to fend for himself. https://t.co/XfAs4rRA5w

Mavs 2Q 13-0 run changed the game. Warriors got the deficit down to 3 then didn’t score for almost 4 mins

No minutes for Moody on a night where Klay couldn’t by a bucket? Like, I can’t help ya Steve if you don’t know what to do in that situation. #Warriors pic.twitter.com/Pf6BJh7Sjv

Another ugly defense of home court as Mavericks beat Warriors 132-122
* Dallas 55.7% from the field, Doncic got all he wanted
* Klay goes 1-11, does not play over final 8:30
* Moody DNP as GP2 returnsLots to get into. Hope you'll join me on Warriors Wrap Up on @957thegame

Critical 7-game homestand and the Warriors have led for a grand total of 5 minutes and 16 seconds of the first two games combined. Just a total letdown.
— Brian Witt (@Wittnessed) December 31, 2023
Warriors lose 132-122 to the Mavericks. Luka goes for 39, 8 & 10, leading a Dallas offense that shot 55.7% from the floor and 40% from three.
Steph had 25 but it never felt fluent. CP3 had a season-high 24 yet that was offset by just three points on 1-11 shooting from Klay.

The Warriors are making this a little easier than I expected (in terms of me losing all hope). Can’t defend a lick and can’t generate any easy offense
— Vignesh Venkataraman (@Viggyfresh) December 31, 2023
The #Warriors gotta start turning the season around and this home stand was a good chance to do something. But they’re 0-2, and have a dialed in Magic team coming up next. No bueno.
At least TJD got a start tonight, which is acknowledging something had to change.
