NBA Twitter reacts to the Warriors dropping a 36-point loss vs. Pelicans
After suffering a blowout loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night, things didn’t get any easier for the Golden State Warriors on the final leg of their seven-game homestand on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
For the second straight game, the Warriors came out flat, falling behind by 19 in the first quarter after giving up 46 points to the Pelicans in the opening 12 minutes.
After starting the game with an opening haymaker, the Pelicans never looked back on their way to a blowout 141-105 win over the sliding Warriors. With a loss to the Pelicans, the Warriors ended their homestead with a 2-5 record, with losses coming in three of their last four.
Steph Curry struggled to find his shot again, scoring 15 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the field in 25 minutes. Moses Moody led the Warriors with 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the floor. No other members of the Warriors registered over 19 points.
Following the Warriors’ latest blowout loss to the Pelicans, the NBA community on Twitter exploded with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Wednesday evening.

The Pelicans’ 141 points are the most the Warriors have given up this season. Dubs trailed by as many as 41.

Second consecutive blowout loss for the Warriors, this time 141-105 to the Pelicans — the most points they've allowed in a game this season. It's also the second game in a row they never led.
Golden State goes 2-5 on their home stand, and now play the next four on the road.

The Warriors were just torched at home by the Pelicans. Trailed by 41. Lost by 36. They finish the homestand 2-5. They're 17-20 overall, now five losses behind the sixth seed, trending in the wrong direction. Four-game road trip coming up: at Bulls, Bucks, Grizzlies, Jazz.

Warriors can’t just “go get a guy.”
— Matt Steinmetz (@SteinmetzNBA) January 11, 2024
The Warriors built a dynasty around a core that was rooted in timing, ball movement, and spacing; everyone had a role with the offense & defense in sync. The multiple lineups this season simply haven’t had to time to develop that; Curry has had to try to adapt on the fly.

I’m sorry. But it’s not trolling to scoff at notion that Warriors can just “trade for” a guy like Markkanen, or Siakam or LaVine or insert sorta star here.

Isolating and picking one player to blame is lazy. As a team, the Warriors gave up 141 points.
That's not on one player.

Steph Curry on whether he feels the Warriors need to show the front office by the trade deadline that this group should stay together: "It’s pretty evident that if things stay the same … That’s the definition of insanity, right? Do the same thing and expect the same result?"
