NBA free agency 2023: Warriors reportedly sign F Dario Šarić

The Golden State Warriors added to their bench depth on Saturday.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors agreed to a one-year deal with Dario Šarić.

Šarić, the former No. 12 pick of the 2014 NBA Draft, played for the Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City Thunder this past season. He averaged 6.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in 57 total games in 2022-23.

Šarić, 29, played professionally in Europe for two more seasons after he was drafted before signing with the Philadelphia 76ers ahead of the 2016 season. He averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game for the Sixers in two-plus seasons before he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the middle of the 2018 season as part of the Jimmy Butler trade. Šarić finished the year with the Timberwolves and then was traded to the Suns during the 2019 draft.

Šarić was a solid role player in Phoenix and averaged 8.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game off the bench. He missed the entire 2021-22 season after he suffered an ACL injury in Game 1 of the 2021 NBA Finals. After he returned in 2022-23 and played in 37 games, Šarić was traded to the Thunder on Feb. 9 in a deal that brought Darius Bazley to Phoenix.

The 29-year-old Croatian will join former Suns teammate Chris Paul in Golden State. Paul was sent to the Warriors after initially being traded to the Washington Wizards in the Bradley Beal trade.

Šarić and Paul are joining a Warriors team that re-signed Draymond Green and traded away Jordan Poole as part of the deal that brought in Paul. The Warriors also lost Donte DiVincenzo in free agency. Šarić is the team's second free-agent signing of the summer after Cory Joseph agreed on a one-year deal for the veteran minimum earlier in the week.
