Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg scores baseball-style goal against Ducks

Filip Forsberg already has a lacrosse-style goal to his credit.

The Nashville Predators forward added a baseball-style goal — or was it cricket-style? — to his resume Tuesday night to get the Predators in the swing of things against the Anaheim Ducks.

Forsberg baseball-batted in the puck bunt style past Ducks goalie John Gibson 1 minute, 3 seconds into the second period to give the Predators a 1-0 lead. The swing came in the middle of a melee in front of the net.

NHL.com labeled the shot a "bat" shot.

Forsberg immediately slid down to one knee, pumping his right fist in the air before finding Gustav Nyquist and three more teammates for a hug.

Exactly 1,400 days ago Tuesday, on Jan. 14, 2020, Forsberg became the second player in NHL history to score a lacrosse-style goal. That feat came during a game in Edmonton against the Oilers.

Forsberg, the franchise's all-time leading goal scorer with 246, has seven goals this season to go with a team-high 11 assists.
