Nashville Predators' Dante Fabbro will play Game 4 vs Vancouver Canucks

The Nashville Predators are making one lineup change ahead of Game 4 against the Vancouver Canucks.

Predators coach Andrew Brunette confirmed Sunday that defenseman Dante Fabbro will enter the lineup for injured defenseman Spencer Stastney, who is out week to week with an upper body injury.

The series resumes Sunday (4 p.m. CT, TBS, Bally Sports South) at Bridgestone Arena. The Canucks lead the best-of-7 series 2-1.

Brunette added there could be other changes to the lineup, but declined to say what those would be.

The other options to replace Stastney would have been Tyson Barrie or recalling a defenseman from their AHL affiliate Milwaukee Admirals. Adding Fabbro provides more defensive coverage to the blueline, in addition to depth on the team's penalty kill.

At Saturday's practice, Brunette said he was considering other options for the lineup after the 2-1 loss in Game 3. While replacing Stastney was inevitable, bringing in Cody Glass or Juuso Parssinen − who bring more size into the lineup − could be possible options. But Brunette could be comfortable not making any more changes than necessary.

The addition of Fabbro to the lineup will shuffle the defensive pairs around. Likely he slots with Roman Josi on the top pairing, pushing Ryan McDonagh to the second pairing with Luke Schenn. Jeremy Lauzon and Alex Carrier have been the third pairing for much of the second half this season.

Even if no other forwards enter the lineup, there could be adjustments to forward lines. Late in the third period in Game 3, with Nashville bearing down in the Vancouver zone looking for a tying goal, Luke Evangelista was moved up in the lineup, seeing more minutes with center Ryan O'Reilly. Evangelista scored his first career playoff goal to get the Predators within one, but the Canucks held on.
