NASCAR Speed Freaks: Joey Logano back in stride? A Chicago repeat for Shane Van Gisbergen?

Right place, right time at Nashville, or is Joey Logano back in the NASCAR championship picture?

KEN'S CALL: Do we also now consider Zane Smith and Ryan Preece top-5 material? Logano and the Penske team are capable of finding consistent production going forward, but for now it's just right pace and right time for Joey.

RYAN'S RAMBLE: In fairness, Logano and the Team Penske/Ford camp have been much better of late. But I wouldn't call him a championship contender just yet, though he's surprised us before and not that long ago.

Does Shane Van Gisbergen repeat on the Chicago Street Course?

KEN'S CALL: Short answer is no. He's great on the road courses, but he also had a lot of things fall in his favor last year. And don't be surprised if the Cup regulars squeeze him here and there to defend their turf, so to speak.

RYAN'S RAMBLE: It's hard to repeat as a winner anywhere and there are some talented road-course drivers in this field who've had another year's worth of simulator runs to try and prepare. I think it's possible, but I think it'll be much tougher.
