NASCAR lineup for Martinsville playoff race after qualifying. Denny Hamlin doomed?
Six playoff drivers at Martinsville are gunning for the two available spots in next week's championship finale at Phoenix.
No one knows where any of those six will finish Sunday, but after Saturday's qualifying, we know where they'll start.
Martin Truex Jr. will begin Sunday's Xfinity 500 on the pole. He laid down a lap time of 19.686 seconds during the final round of qualifying. Playoff drivers Chase Elliott and William Bryon will follow him in second and third.
If you're a Denny Hamlin fan, look away. Not good. He crashed during pre-qualifying practice, decided against a backup car and instead fixed the primary ride instead of qualifying. He has a lot of ground to make up .... but a lot of time Sunday.
