NASCAR goes to Iowa and who's scared? No more Fox and no more Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Iowa gets its moment to shine this week. Are you optimistic or worried?

KEN'S CALL: In an effort to help with grip and therefore the racing, they've done some partial repaving in the turns, which makes it look patchy and minor-league. At just under a mile, it squeezes into the category where NASCAR has had trouble with the product in the Next Gen era. Color me worried.

RYAN'S RAMBLE: Yeah, I love this track. Multiple grooves, a short track fast enough for IndyCar to run and yet, I'm worried. On the bright side, it's another opportunity for NASCAR and/or Goodyear to figure something out.

Some strategic repaving has Iowa Speedway looking weird but hopefully it helps the racing.

Happy or bummed to see Fox give way to NBC for the rest of the season?

KEN'S CALL: Mike Joy is the best and Clint Bowyer is an obvious joy, but at least when NBC takes over we get a weekly visit from Junior Earnhardt ... oh, wait, no we don't. He's moved on. OK, I'm leaning toward bummed.

RYAN'S RAMBLE: There are pros and cons to both broadcasts. For now, I'll just be happy having some idea as to which channel racing might be on before we bring cable channels, streaming services and grainy security camera footage into play next season.
