MTSU's Nick McDevitt named Conference USA men's Coach of the Year
Middle Tennessee State's men's basketball had four players named to the All-Conference USA team Monday, including Nick McDevitt who was named the Gene Bartow Coach of the Year.
MTSU's women had three named to postseason honors.
Blue Raiders graduate transfer Josh Jefferson was named second-team all-conference, graduate senior Donovan Sims was named honorable mention all-conference and Teafale Lenard was named to the All-Freshman team.
Lady Raiders senior and former Riverdale standout Alexis Whittington was named to the All-Defensive Team, Kseniya Malashka was named Sixth Player of the Year while Malashka, Dor Saar and Courtney Whitson were named second-team all-conference and Jalynn Gregory and Anastasiia Boldyreva were both named to the All-Freshman Team.
McDevitt turned the Blue Raiders around from a 5-18 record a season ago to 22-9, including a C-USA East Division championship.
He is the second MTSU coach to earn the conference award, joining Kermit Davis (2017).

Jefferson, who leads MTSU in scoring at 14.6 points, and Sims are the first Blue Raiders to earn all-conference since 2018.
Sims averaged 11.8 points in conference play and leads MTSU with 2.6 assists per game.
Lenard won four conference freshman of the week awards this season.
Player awards were voted on by coaches, media and sports information directors while the coach of the year was voted on by coaches only.
The Blue Raiders, who have received a bye into the quarterfinals, will begin C-USA Tournament play on Thursday against the winner of the Old Dominion-UTEP game at 8 p.m. in Frisco, Texas.
