How can you not be romantic about baseball?

Those are of course the words of Brad Pitt as he portrayed legendary Oakland Athletics executive Billy Beane in the classic movie "Moneyball."

But if it was said about Kerry Carpenter's go-ahead home run in the ninth inning of Game 2 of the ALDS on Monday, you wouldn't have blinked an eye.

Carpenter's home run had all the makings of a Hollywood classic in real life. Ninth inning. Playoffs. Two strikes. Two outs. Best closer in baseball on the mound in a tie game. Blast off, no-doubter home run at the crack of the bat.

It was the kind of moments that sports fans live for, and it's why the at-bat matches up so well with the climactic scene of Moneyball.

The "mlbonfox" TikTok account brilliantly stitched together Carpenter's at-bat against Guardians reliever Emmanuel Clase with the Scott Hatteberg home-run scene in Moneyball and even spliced in some audio from Tigers radio play-by-play announcer Dan Dickerson.

The results were perfect.

If you don't get chills watching it, well, you just might not be romantic about baseball.
