Missouri football’s stressful, double-overtime win over Vanderbilt cost it a spot in the top 10 of the coaches poll.

The Tigers tumbled out of the top 10 in the US LBM Coaches Poll released Sunday after the Week 4 slate down to No. 11 in the nation, moving out of a tie for the eighth-ranked team in the nation and getting leapfrogged by two teams.

Mizzou, which entered the Week 4 slate of games tied for the No. 8 spot with Penn State, was leapfrogged by Miami and Utah in the latest rankings, dropping to its lowest mark since the Week 1 poll despite its undefeated record.

There are still five SEC teams ahead of the Tigers.

Georgia remained at No. 1, and Texas stayed at No. 2. Alabama and Ole Miss come in at No. 4 and 5, respectively, and Tennessee is No. 6, jumping Oregon, after defeating Oklahoma in Norman.

Ohio State is No. 3, the Ducks are No. 7 and Penn State stayed at No. 8 for three Big Ten teams in the top 10.

Mizzou has a week off before it heads to College Station, Texas, to face Texas A&M, which is No. 24 in the latest poll after defeating Bowling Green and former Mizzou QB Connor Bazelak 26-20 on Saturday at home. The Aggies host Arkansas before facing Mizzou.

Making up the remainder of the SEC teams in the top 25: LSU is No. 13 in the coaches poll, and Oklahoma is No. 18.

Missouri football drops out of top 10 in AP poll

Missouri is out of the top 10 in both major polls.

The Tigers dropped to No. 11 in Sunday's AP Top 25 poll, too, marking a slide of four spots. Mizzou was jumped by Miami (No. 7), Oregon (8), Penn State (9) and Utah (10).

Texas stayed ahead of Georgia as the No. 1 team in the country, and Ohio State and Alabama were Nos. 3 and 4, respectively, as they are in the coaches poll.

But Tennessee moved up to No. 5, one spot ahead of sixth-ranked Ole Miss, according to the national voters.

There is a more-than 200 voting-point gap to 12th-placed Michigan in the poll, the first team behind Mizzou.

In the SEC, LSU is ranked No. 14, Oklahoma is 21st and Texas A&M, Mizzou's next opponent, is No. 24.

Boston College, which Missouri beat in Week 3, is the third team out. Missouri's future opponents South Carolina and Arkansas each received votes but are unranked.
