Missouri football releases full depth chart for 2024 season. See who made it here

The depth is set.

On Sunday, Missouri football released its depth chart ahead of the 2024 season, which begins at 7 p.m. Thursday in Columbia with a game against Murray State.

Surprises were at a minimum, with most pieces following the patterns seen through observable practice reps throughout the Tigers’ fall camp. Some competitions, like cornerback and running back, appear set to head into the season. Others, like defensive tackle and punter, seem more settled.

Here is who is listed on Missouri football’s depth chart for the 2024 season:

No competitions at quarterback for Missouri football

The starter: Brady Cook, sr.

The backup: Drew Pyne, so.

No news here. Moving on …

Running back

The starter: Nate Noel, sr., -OR- Marcus Carroll, sr

The backups: Jamal Roberts, r-fr.; Tavorus Jones, so.; Kewan Lacy, fr.

Noel and Carroll are listed with an ‘or’ designation between their names, meaning Mizzou looks likely to use both heading into the season. Roberts is the backup.

Head coach Eli Drinkwitz said Sunday that the Tigers' plan is to use Noel first against Murray State.

Wide receivers

The starters: Slot: Luther Burden III, jr.; X: Theo Wease Jr., sr.; Z: Mookie Cooper, sr.

The backups: Slot: Mekhi Miller, jr.; Daniel Blood, so.; X: Marquis Johnson, so.; Logan Muckey, jr. OR James Madison II, fr. Z: Joshua Manning, so.; Courtney Crutchfield, fr.

As expected, Missouri is running with its experienced trio of Burden, Wease and Cooper as its depth-chart headliners at wideout. In total, 10 wide receivers are listed on the depth chart.

Miller is listed as the first man off the bench after Burden, Johnson is next up after Wease and, finally, Manning is listed first after Cooper.

Tight end

The starter: Brett Norfleet, so.

The backups: Jordon Harris, so.; OR Tyler Stephens, sr.

Norfleet is taking the starting reps, with Harris and Stephens listed as backups. Harris, Drinkwitz said, is carrying a minor injury and could be questionable heading into Thursday's game.

Offensive line

The starters: LT: Marcus Bryant, sr.; LG: Cayden Green, so.; C: Connor Tollison, jr.; RG: Cam’Ron Johnson, sr.; RG: Armand Membou, jr.

The backups: LT: Jayven Richardson, so.; LG: Logan Reichert, r-fr.; C: Triston Wilson, so.; OR Drake Heismayer, sr.; RG: Curtis Peagler, so.; RT: Mitchell Walters, sr.

The line has been set for quite some time, despite an early camp competition at left tackle between Bryant and Richardson for the left tackle spot.

Of note, Wilson and Heismeyer are listed as co-backups to Tollison at center.

Defensive tackle

The starters: Kristian Williams, sr.; Chris McClellan, jr.

The backups: Sterling Webb, jr.; OR Marquis Gracial, so.; OR Jalen Marshall, so.; OR Sam Williams, r-fr.

Some news here: McClellan, a Florida transfer, appears to have won the fall camp battle for a starting defensive tackle spot.

Gracial, who had frequently been running with the first team, and Webb are listed as Kristian Williams' backups. Sam Williams and Marshall will back up McClellan.

This is likely to be a position with frequent rotation for Missouri.

Defensive ends

The starters: Joker: Johnny Walker Jr., sr.; Field: Zion Young, jr.; OR Eddie Kelly, jr.

The backups: Joker: Joe Moore III, sr.; Jakhai Lang, r-fr.; Field: Williams Nwaneri, fr..; Jaylen Brown, fr.

The starting duo of Walker and Young has long seemed to be settled, but Kelly, Georgia Tech transfer, seems set to take frequent reps in rotation.

Linebackers

The starters: MLB: Chuck Hicks, sr.; OR Corey Flagg, sr.; OLB: Triston Newson, sr.; OR Khalil Jacobs, jr.

The backups: Brayshawn Littlejohn, r-fr.; Jeremiah Beasley, fr.; Brian Huff, fr.; Nicholas Rodriguez, fr.;

Mizzou's most four experienced linebackers will rotate, according to the depth chart. Littlejohn and Rodriguez are backups at outside linebacker, while Beasley and Huff are backups at middle linebacker.

Cornerbacks

The starters: Drey Norwood, sr.; Toriano Pride, jr. OR Nicholas DeLoach, r-fr.

Main rotation: Marcus Clarke, sr.; OR Ja’Mariyon Wayne, so.; Shamar McNeil, r-fr.; Cameron Keys, fr.; Jaren Sensabaugh, fr.

One of camp's more interesting competitions appears to be heading into the season. DeLoach, a redshirt freshman, and Pride, a Clemson transfer, will share starting reps at cornerback.

Norwood, as expected, takes the other starting role. Clarke or Wayne will back the returner up.

Safeties

The starters: Free: Joseph Charleston, sr.; OR Tre’Vez Johnson, sr. Boundary: Marvin Burks Jr., so.; Star: Daylan Carnell, sr.

Main rotation: Free: Trajan Greco, fr.; Boundary: Caleb Flagg, jr.; Star: Sidney Williams Sr., sr.; OR Phillip Roche, so.

The reserves: Jackson Hancock, fr.

Missouri’s deepest and most experienced room on defense includes no surprises. The position designations, however, are more of a courtesy, as this is a very versatile room, and the likes of Tre'Vez Johnson and Williams likely will take relief reps at a variety of positions.

Placekicker

The starter: Blake Craig, r-fr.

The reserve: Nick Quadrini, so.

Craig took all of the observable first-team reps kicking in camp, and will succeed Harrison Mevis. Bauer and Cook are the holders on the depth chart.

Punter

The starter: Luke Bauer, sr.

The reserve: Orion Phillips, so.

One of the few remaining competitions on the team is settled. Bauer, who punted frequently for MU last season, has beat the Murray State transfer for the punting gig.

Long snapper

The starters: Punt: Brett Le Blanc, so. FG: Trey Flint, sr.

Returners

Punt returners: Burden; Blood; Wease

Kick returners: Marquis Johnson; Manning; Burks

Burden is listed on the depth chart as the starting punt returner. Marquis Johnson is the first man up at kick return.
