Mississippi State baseball's Pico Kohn to miss remainder of 2023 season with torn UCL
STARKVILLE — Mississippi State baseball will be without pitcher Pico Kohn for the remainder of the season. Kohn, who hasn't appeared in a game this year, has a torn UCL and will undergo surgery, he announced via social media Monday.
"While this is not how I expected my sophomore season to go, I trust in God's plan for me, and I know that I am surrounded by the best staff in college baseball that will help me do what is necessary to get back on the field wearing the maroon and white," Kohn wrote.

His status throughout this season has been unclear. After a Feb. 22 win against University of Louisiana Monroe, coach Chris Lemonis said MSU was, "day-to-day" with Kohn but was hoping it was nothing serious.

Kohn showed plenty of promise as a true freshman. He appeared in 21 games with a 4.91 ERA., and 35 strikeouts in 36⅔ innings. As a left-handed pitcher, Kohn primarily worked out of the bullpen, though he did start two games.
Kohn is a native of Verbena, Alabama, who attended Chilton County High School.
