Mississippi State baseball score vs. Georgia Southern: Live updates, how to watch
STARKVILLE — Mississippi State baseball is looking to secure a series win and return to .500 in Sunday’s matchup against Georgia Southern at Dudy Noble Field.
The Bulldogs (3-4) won Friday’s series opener by a final score of 5-1. In the victory, MSU got 6⅔ scoreless innings from starting pitcher Nate Dohm.
The offense struggled early, scoring just two runs across the first six innings. However, Mississippi State got three insurances runs across the seventh and eighth innings to pull away.

The second game, an 11-4 loss, was a much different story. MSU starter Khal Stephen allowed four runs in the first and didn’t make it through the third inning after allowing another three runs. Behind him, the bullpen allowed four runs to give Mississippi State an 11-1 deficit before coming to bat in the fifth.
MSU won its opening series last weekend against Air Force by taking the rubber match after splitting the opening two games. However, MSU went on to drop two midweek games against Austin Peay before welcoming Georgia Southern (2-4) to Starkville.
