The Milwaukee Bucks' Bobby Portis left Wednesday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls early after taking a shot directly to his eye.

Portis, late in the first quarter of the Bucks' 114-110 loss in Game 2 of their opening round playoff series against the Bulls, went up for a rebound with Chicago’s Tristan Thompson under the rim.

As they were in the air, Thompson’s left hand came swinging down and drilled Portis directly in his right eye, which started bleeding down his cheek.

No foul was called on the play. Portis then angrily walked off the court and directly to the locker room.

He came back to the bench in the second quarter, but then the Bucks officially ruled him out after halftime with what they called a right eye abrasion.

Portis finished his night with two points and two rebounds in six minutes.

The severity of his injury is still unknown, but by the looks of things, it’s not great. His eye was extremely bloodshot well after he returned to the bench for the rest of the contest.

The Bucks also lost Khris Middleton in the fourth quarter after he went down with knee soreness after he slipped in the paint. Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer said he was told that Middleton has an MCL sprain, but that they won't know more until an MRI on Thursday. He finished with 18 points and eight assists while shooting 5-of-7 from the 3-point line.

The Bulls, after holding a seven-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, opened the final period on a 9-0 run to take control. They then held on to take the four-point win behind a 41-point night from DeMar DeRozan, who shot 16-of-31 from the field.

Nikola Vucevic added 24 points and 13 rebounds in the win, and Zach LaVine finished with 20 points for the Bulls, who will head back to Chicago with the series tied 1-1.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with a near-triple-double with 33 points, 18 rebounds and nine assists. Brook Lopez added 25 points and six rebounds. The Bucks’ bench added just eight points combined.
