Mike Evans crosses 1,000 yards for the 10th consecutive season

All-Pro wide receiver Mike Evans has extended this record of the most consecutive 1,000-yard receiving to 10 ending the night with seven catches for 162 yards and a touchdown.

Only needing 150 yards entering the game Evans started chipping away at the number catch after catch. Then, with under five minutes left in the third quarter, Baker Mayfield hit Evans over the middle for a 75-yard touchdown putting him in a handful full yards away.

Then in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game, Evans caught a comeback route for an 11-yard reception putting him over 1,000 yards for the season. What made it even sweeter was that not only did he cross that mark. He went off on the Carolina Panthers in the 21-18 win slightly keeping the slim playoff hopes alive for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He is now in elite company and has a chance to tie NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice as the only players to have 11 consecutive seasons with 1,000-yard seasons if he can reach the same feat next year. However, we’ll congratulate Mike Evans on crossing this milestone where he stands alone and give him his flowers now.
