When do Michigan Wolverines play today? A look at schedule in Week 7

Michigan Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore reacts to a blocked field goal attempt by the Washington Huskies to end the second quarter at Husky Stadium on Oct. 5, 2024 in Seattle.

When do the Michigan Wolverines play today?

A great week of game across college football in the Power Four kicked off on Friday night with Maryland hosting Northwestern in a Big Ten showdown and No. 17 Utah heading to Arizona State for a late-night kickoff.

Some of the best games of the season are taking place this week, with the Red River Rivalry between No. 1 Texas and No. 16 Oklahoma happening in Dallas, USC hosting No. 5 Penn State, No. 8 Ole Miss going to No. 10 LSU, and of course, last but not least, No. 2 Ohio State traveling to Eugene to face the No. 3 Oregon Ducks.

It should be a great week of games, plus the Detroit Tigers have a win-or-go-home game against the Cleveland Guardians in Game 5 of the ALDS.

The Michigan Wolverines, meanwhile, do not play this week, but there should be plenty of sports to fill the void during the bye week.

The Michigan State Spartans will also be on a bye week in a rare example of the two squads having matching weeks off.

Here's a quick look at the Wolverines in Week 7.

Does Michigan football play today?

No. Sherrone Moore's squad is 4-2 at the halfway point of the season and enters the bye week looking for a reset after a tough loss on the road to Washington in a national championship rematch. The Wolverines have been shuffling quarterbacks since the Week 4 victory over Arkansas State, first using former walk-on Davis Warren, then moving to Alex Orji when Warren showed a turnover problem, and lastly went to 25-year-old veteran QB Jack Tuttle midway through the loss to Washington. Figuring out the situation under center is priority No. 1 for the Wolverines, but as Our Man Tony Garcia wrote this week, there are other things Michigan needs to work out as well. The good news for the Wolverines is they still have just one loss in conference play and if they can turn things around and start playing better football, they can still do some damage this season with No. 3 Oregon and No. 2 Ohio State still on the schedule.
