MIAMI GARDENS — Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa topped a long list of Dolphins regulars who did not participate in Tuesday's voluntary OTA, which was open to reporters but closed to fans.

Others not on the field included receivers Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Odell Beckham Jr., running back Raheem Mostert and tackle Terron Armstead on offense, plus defensive tackle Zach Sieler, linebacker Shaq Barrett and cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Observations from the workout:

  • Linebackers Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips, coming off season-ending injuries, worked with trainers on the side. Neither Chubb (knee) nor Phillips (Achilles) wore special protection on their injured legs, but Phillips did appear to walk with a hitch. Others working with trainers included linebacker Cameron Goode, top pick/linebacker Chop Robinson, cornerback Cam Smith and offensive lineman Aaron Brewer.

  • Linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. tipped a pass from Mike White to himself, then came down with the ball for an interception.

  • Linebacker Grayson Murphy had a hit on QB Gavin Hardison's arm to break up a pass.

  • QB Skylar Thompson connected with De'Von Achane on a long pass completion.

  • Tight end Jody Fortson Jr. made two nice catches, including one from Hardison.

  • Receiver Erik Ezukanma made a nice catch over the middle of a high pass.

  • White found Braxton Berrios over the middle for a completion.

  • Cornerback Jason Maitre broke up a pass.
