Miami Dolphins' Mike McDaniel praises Tua Tagovailoa: 'Simply being true'

MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel met with reporters Wednesday.

  • On CB Jalen Ramsey: McDaniel doesn't specify the injury but credits Ramsey for contributions nonetheless. "I've never been more proud of a player not practicing, honestly." Adds he knows how important he is to the team.

  • On the team having two good Septembers under him: "What you get to see in the first month is probably 230-something days from the last time you competed. In that time, from one season to the next, you see what people have put in (work wise) and where their game is from last year to this year."

  • On the 'F' position on the depth chart (Alec Ingold, Jonnu Smith): It's a versatile position. Simply put, good football players who can block, catch, run, etc.

  • Praises Tua Tagovailoa's leadership style, which teammates are universally praising. Says Tua is simply being true, being himself, and players are responding to that authenticity. Tagovailoa was just named a team captain for 2024.
