Miami Dolphins' Mike McDaniel addresses Odell Beckham Jr.'s health, backup QB situation
MIAMI GARDENS -- Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel met with reporters Monday in advance of cuts to the 53-man roster (deadline is Tuesday).
More: Miami Dolphins have only 2 QBs, but the emergency QB rule isn't what you think
Highlights:
Isaiah Wynn, Cam Goode and Bradley Chubb will start season on PUP.
Odell Beckham Jr. is TBA as far as roster status.
McDaniel says "I would imagine" GM Chris Grier and his staff are looking for a QB3.
McDaniel says they are open-minded in terms of what they're looking for in QB3 (veteran, developmental player).
Says he looks at it as a "69-man roster" rather than a 53 because of the importance of depth. "In football there is a 100 percent injury rate. Every player, at some point in time, gets hurt."
On center Aaron Brewer, his injury and whether he'll be available for Week 1: McDaniel won't speculate. Repeats he doesn't want to push players to rush back.
Says this team, more than his previous two, is better equipped to handle any adversity that comes its way at the end of the season.
