Miami Dolphins bringing back edge rusher Emmanuel Ogbah
The Miami Dolphins are bringing back Emmanuel Ogbah, league sources said Tuesday.
Ogbah, 30, was let go by the Dolphins earlier this offseason in a salary cap-related move.
But Miami needs to add an edge rusher after veteran Shaquil Barrett suddenly retired.
Ogbah played a limited role for defensive coordinator Vic Fangio last season but he may be a better fit for the defense that will be used under incoming defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.
Emmanuel Ogbah has produced for Miami Dolphins
Ogbah, 6-foot-4, 275 pounds, was an excellent free agent addition for Miami in 2020.
In the last four seasons, he posted 9, 9, 1 and 5.5 sacks.
Ogbah is respected in the locker room and should help mentor rookies Chop Robinson and Mo Kamara.
The Dolphins also visited with edge Yannick Ngakoue on Monday.
