The Miami Dolphins are signing quarterback Tyler "Snoop" Huntley off of the Baltimore Ravens practice squad.

Huntley, 26, was a Pro Bowler in 2022 for the Ravens.

Huntley, a native of Dania Beach, attended Hallandale High School and played college ball at Utah.

Huntley helps the Dolphins' depth as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa recovers from a concussion.

In high school, Huntley posted 106 touchdowns. As a senior, he was Florida Gatorade Football Player of the Year.

In the NFL, Huntley has 20 games played, and nine starts, as a backup to Lamar Jackson.

Huntley has a 3-6 record as a starter, and a career passer rating of 79.0 with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Huntley actually spent this spring and summer with the Cleveland Browns, but he was released in late August.

Like the Dolphins' current starting quarterback, Skylar Thompson, Huntley has a track record of success running the football, including from zone read schemes.

Huntley has a history of making some exciting, off-schedule plays that make the highlight reel.

Huntley is nicknamed Snoop because of his resemblance to rapper Snoop Dogg, according to a 2017 story in the Salt Lake Tribune.

Tagovailoa is being assessed following a concussion in Miami's last game.

Coach Mike McDaniel has already indicated the obvious, which is that Tagovailoa is expected to be out Sunday at Seattle.
