Memphis Grizzlies waive guard Victor Oladipo a week after acquiring him in trade
The Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday waived guard Victor Oladipo, who was acquired last week in a trade with the Houston Rockets.
Oladipo was traded to the Grizzlies along with three second round picks for Steven Adams. He has been out all season with a knee injury and slotted into the Grizzlies' ever-growing injury report after the trade was confirmed.
His tenure with the Grizzlies lasted about a week.
Oladipo averaged 10.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in 42 games for the Heat in 2022-2023. He also had a first stint with Houston in 2020-2021 and also spent time with the Magic, Thunder and Pacers during his career.
The Grizzlies were busy at the trade deadline, sending out Adams, Xavier Tillman Sr. and David Roddy.
Waiving Oladipo will open up another roster spot for the Grizzlies, who currently have three players — Matthew Hurt, Tosan Evbuomwan and Trey Jemison — on 10-day contracts.
