Meet The Oklahoman's 2024 All-City high school girls swimming first team

Here are the first-team members of The Oklahoman's 2024 All-City girls swimming squad.

Avery Littlefield, Stillwater

Class: Senior

Event: 50-yard freestyle

The story: An LSU signee, Littlefield is on The Oklahoman’s All-City first team for the fourth time after winning Class 6A titles in the 50 freestyle (23.14) and 100 freestyle (50.46) this year. She claimed seven individual championships during her high school career, with her only state loss coming in the 100 freestyle as a sophomore.

Laney Jones, Edmond North

Class: Junior

Event: 100 freestyle

The story: She placed third in her two individual races at the Class 6A state meet as she finished the 100 freestyle in 52.85 and the 50 freestyle in 23.76.

Sarah Kingrey, Edmond North

Class: Sophomore

Event: 100 butterfly

The story: Kingrey had fourth-place finishes in her two individual events at the Class 6A state meet. Kingrey completed the 100 butterfly in 58.88 and the 500 freestyle in 5:18.13.

Macy Lewis, Bishop McGuinness

Class: Senior

Event: 100 backstroke

The story: The Texas A&M signee was the Class 6A runner-up in the 100 backstroke (55.53) and 100 butterfly (56.24). She had a great career with the Irish and won six Class 5A championships in her first three years of high school.

Maddy Lu, Casady

Class: Senior

Event: 100 breaststroke

The story: Casady competed in the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association for the first time, and Lu — who will continue her career at Division III Emory University in Atlanta — made the most of the opportunity. She won the Class 5A title in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.02) and placed second in the 200 individual medley (2:21.02).

Caroline Glover, Edmond North

Class: Senior

Event: 200 freestyle

The story: Glover had a pair of fifth-place finishes at the Class 6A state meet as she swam in the 200 freestyle (1:57.81) and 100 butterfly (59.21).

Kelsey Healy, Edmond North

Class: Junior

Event: 200 individual medley

The story: Healy placed second in the 200 individual medley (2:07.73) and third in the 100 backstroke (56.08) as Edmond North placed third in the team standings.

Kaida Bradley, Norman

Class: Sophomore

Event: 500 freestyle

The story: For the second straight season, Bradley placed second in the 500 freestyle and fourth in the 200 freestyle at the Class 6A state meet. She completed the 500 in 5:12.18 and the 200 in 1:57.14 at this year’s state meet after finishing in 5:20.90 and 1:57.52 at state as a freshman.

Coaches of the Year: Valarie Colburn and Bob McNeil, Shawnee

The story: Colburn and McNeil were co-head coaches for Shawnee, and they led the Wolves to their third straight Class 5A girls swimming title. Shawnee had to overcome some challenges after the its YMCA was hit by a tornado last spring, but the Wolves altered their training routine and had another strong season.
