MaximBet signs Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon to endorsement deal
Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon became the first active Major League Baseball player to endorse a sportsbook after signing an endorsement deal with MaximBet.
Blackmon will be featured in upcoming marketing campaigns, fan events, promotions and social media content.
"As I learned more about MaximBet, I knew this absolutely was the right brand for me," Blackmon said in a statement. "MaximBet has really attached itself to the local Colorado community, and I cannot wait to have some fun with MaximBet and surprising fans with incredible 'money can't buy' experiences all season."
MLB players are not allowed to bet on games, but are free to endorse services affiliated with gambling.

MLB ballparks are also getting in the act of having sportsbooks on site, with BetMGM Sportsbook at Nationals Park opening in January. Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, was the first MLB stadium to allow sports fans to place an in-person wager at ticket windows 21-25.
The 35-year-old Blackmon is a four-time All-Star who has spent his entire 12-year career with the Rockies. A career .300 hitter, Blackmon has eight hits in 35 at-bats this season.
