Mason Rudolph, former Pittsburgh Steelers QB, to sign with Tennessee Titans l Source
The Tennessee Titans have agreed to sign Mason Rudolph, adding depth to the quarterback room behind starter Will Levis, a source with direct knowledge confirmed to The Tennessean on Wednesday.
The source requested anonymity because no official announcement has been made.
The Titans expressed interest in adding another quarterback to their room from the NFL combine. Rudolph fits the profile after leading the Pittsburgh Steelers into the playoffs last year. The Oklahoma State product has started 13 NFL games across four seasons, throwing 19 touchdowns with 11 interceptions while leading the Steelers to an 8-4-1 record. This included a 3-0 stretch to end the 2023 season in which he completed 75% of his passes and threw for 716 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions to beat the Bengals, Seahawks and Ravens.
Rudolph, 28, has only played for the Steelers since the team drafted him in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He joins a Titans quarterback room that consists of Levis, who the Titans picked in the second round last year, and third-year passer Malik Willis.
FREE AGENT GUIDE: Titans free agency: Everything you need to know about Derrick Henry, offseason NFL schedule
Rudolph joins a Titans free agent class that also includes running back Tony Pollard, offensive linemen Lloyd Cushenberry and Saahdiq Charles, cornerback Chidobe Awuzie and linebacker Kenneth Murray.
The Titans came into the free agency window with roughly $80 million available in salary cap space, the second-most in the NFL. Running back Derrick Henry, defensive lineman Denico Autry, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting and quarterback Ryan Tannehill all hit free agency this week, a major reason why the Titans have this surplus in cash.
Some of the Titans' biggest needs in free agency this year include adding starters on the offensive line and at cornerback, linebacker and receiver as well as depth pieces at quarterback, running back and safety.
