Marquette’s Tyler Kolek wasn’t picked in first round of NBA draft. Where will he land?
Marquette point guard Tyler Kolek was seemingly a surefire first-round pick in the NBA draft on Wednesday.
But Kolek was not among the 30 names called by NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
MU fans had strong opinions that the two-time All-American was not picked.
Well, as if Kolek needed any more chips on his shoulder.

It doesn't seem like Kolek will have to wait long in the second round on Thursday, with the guard being near the top of most "best available" lists.

Why wasn't Tyler Kolek picked in first round?
NBA front offices seemed more intrigued by younger players with upside than established college players. The Milwaukee Bucks drafted 19-year-old AJ Johnson despite not being productive in Australia's NBL because he has speed and a 6-8 wingspan.
Kolek is 23 years old and NBA teams probably view him as closer to a finished project than someone like Johnson. Another 23-year-old, Tennessee's Dalton Knecht, was seen as a top-10 talent before the draft but he slipped to the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 17.
Where will Tyler Kolek land in second round?
Kolek had a pre-draft workout with the Toronto Raptors, who have the first pick in the second round.
The Bucks pick at No. 33, could Kolek end up staying in Milwaukee?
It is hard to envision Kolek dropping past the San Antonio Spurs at No. 35. The Spurs are looking for play-making around 7-foot-4 star Victor Wembanyama, and Kolek averaged a nation-best 7.7 assists per game.
Where will Oso Ighodaro land in the second round?
Kolek's pick-and-roll partner at MU, 6-11 big man Oso Ighodaro, is also expected to be picked in the second round on Thursday.
The fast-paced Indiana Pacers could be a good landing spot at No. 36 for the adept ball-handler and passer.
The Miami Heat have plenty of experience molding talent from MU, including Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler, Jae Crowder and Jamal Cain, and the Heat has a pick at No. 43.
