The Golden Eagles have made the NCAA Tournament in all three of Shaka Smart's three seasons as head coach of the program.
Ninth-seeded MU lost to eighth-seeded North Carolina in the first round of the 2022 tournament.
The Golden Eagles earned a No. 2 seeding in last season's NCAA Tournament. MU beat Vermont in the first round, the school's first victory in the NCAA Tournament since 2013. But the Golden Eagles were then upset by seventh-seeded Michigan State in the second round.
