Malik Nabers dropped a fourth-down pass in his Giants breakout to spoil a potential win

Malik Nabers had a big game Sunday for the New York Giants, catching 10 passes for 127 yards a touchdown against the Washington Commanders, flashing the talent that made him a first-round pick.

Unfortunately for him, the one moment many people will remember from the game will be the play Nabers didn't make. A dropped pass that might have cost the Giants the game.

Because Giants kicker Graham Gano was out with an injury, New York had to attempt a fourth-down conversion deep in Washington territory with 2:04 left in the fourth quarter and the game tied at 18. Daniel Jones went back to the reliable Nabers to convert, but the receiver dropped the pass on the sideline to give the ball back to Washington.

Had they converted, New York could have milked the clock a little more while taking a few more cracks at the end zone. Instead, the Commanders used the final two minutes to drive the other way and win the game as time expired on their sixth made field goal.

You can't blame Nabers for the loss, as the Giants wouldn't have been in that position without him. And they might have already put the game away if they had a kicker.

But that's going to be a tough one for the rookie to swallow nonetheless.
